Witches in the Lime light )O(

Merry meet all,

I love the dark half of the year. Technically, here the weather constantly switches between overcast and rainy to sunny then overcast. I was busy today straining herbs and oils. I conjured a bottle of calendula oil and I combined lavender with mugwort into an amber coloured glass jar. I plan to use the oils for beauty recipes and witchy things.

Speaking of witches… I want to post about a topic that deals with witches. I am familiar with the history of the Burning times, a dark stain on the history of Witches. We survived. We survived the searing burning pain of the flames and we are here now. We will never go away. We never left…We are essential. We are the bringers of light, healing, magic and the impetus for change. Witches are the movers and the shakers. Our cauldrons glow and pulse with magic and our brooms cause rains or cleanse a home of negative energy.

I really want to post about something related to witches and witchcraft. But for the sake of all involved, I am not naming names here in this post. I just can’t resist the itch to post this but I do want to protect the privacy of those included here. It is professional that way. Ok so now that that is out of the way, here we go. I participated in an online course recently about parapsychology and demonology. I am so sad that I am not included any longer. I hope to continue the studies elsewhere.

The director whose name I will not mention here has crossed a fine line. I mean he was able to obtain medical records from a person who I will not name. But then after obtaining the records, he violates the privacy of the person involved to discuss the person on his podcasts and workshops. I think that is a violation of privacy but that is only my opinion. It is certainly not carved in stone. I am sure the person involved never gave the director permission to discuss her predicament and mental health publicly and online. That is such a violation. Is she aware of that violation? I sure hope so.

Just because one person doesn’t agree with a person’s religious or spiritual path doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with that person. I am relieved to have removed myself from the courses. I am sad that I can’t attend the Symposium next year. When I reflect on it, I have to ask myself why would I ever be interested in attending? If you are Catholic or Christian or a total bible thumper, then you would have the best time ever. I saw a person in the audience wave a cross in the air. I wanted to just whip out my pentacle and swing it at him rather briskly. Or sit next to him and get all witchy in his face. But I didn’t. I am glad I didn’t because then I was just giving them what they wanted and I am better than that. I would be no better than them and that is not the point here.

The persecution will never end. It has left a dark mark in history and the recent events prove it will never go away. Now I know what parapsychology means. Now that I am aware of the meaning, I will be even more of a Witch. I mean we don’t belong in the ghetto. We are out of the ghetto now and we are never going back there. Those so called pompous self-righteous bigots who want to damn every single life form on earth that isn’t exactly like them and should then be damned for that. That is why I keep this blog. I believe that religion has its place and science does too. I like science not as much as I like art but I am sure science has its place. I don’t want to be that mean to a person and treat them like paranormal phenomena is all in their head.

We witches have our place. We are out of the ghetto and in the lime light, the spotlight where we belong. We are not going away. We will stand strong against those who oppose us. The world is changing and the really religious people like Christians, Catholics and fundamentalists don’t have much choice in it. We all have to keep pace with the change. The world religions have their place and if it makes people happy, then power to you. Satanism and witchcraft – now don’t get me wrong or get bent out of shape by my words here – I am not lumping the two together at all in any shape and form – I am just saying it’s our turn. The other world religions while perhaps valid- had their turn. Now it’s ours. Let’s make it good and memorable and magical!

The director blocked me from the courses and the paranormal page on his Facebook group. Fine. Let him. I have other roads to stroll down and other fields to frolic in. And every single road has lots of cauldrons, cats and broomsticks for me. I am free to be me there. I skip and cuddle my cat and ride to the moon. But following my own path means more room for me to be me, instead of being judged and persecuted. I just wish I could talk to that woman whose privacy was violated but if she handed her own medical records over, then maybe she was aware of what would transpire. One can only hope.

I had hoped the world had become more accepting of those who are different, on the fringe. Well change is never easy. Yet change is the only constant. I hope the change is the one most desired and results in the most positive, most accepting change. Where people of all faiths and paths embrace each other and there is no wars over it. But that is a pipe dream and a naive way to view it, I know.

I can still hope and dream. Be strong, dream. Be aware, be magical. Shine bright starlight

Witchy Creativity )O(

Merry meet all,

I am suffering from another burst of awesome creative energy. The stars must be aligned! I hemmed and mended my black wool cloak. I also finally added this beautiful silvery and blue Celtic dragon trim to the cloak. It’s not finished but the trim does look truly cool on the cloak. I hope to finish sewing the cloak this weekend.

The trim goes over the hood and down the opening sides of the cloak- both left and right. I love how it looks. It is so cool. I added the trim to enhance the cloak. The dragon trim is turned toward me, facing inward to protect me. I have had enough of the negative energy sent my way. As I pinned the trim to the cloak to be sewn in, I projected a protective energy for the dragons to protect me. I am sure the dragons will protect me while I wear it this fall. I finished the cloak today. I completed the lining hem and sewed on the trim. I am so happy, and the cloak looks so beautiful!

Dragons are powerful creatures and a strong symbol in many cultures. Tolkien loved dragons as do I. I have dragon bookends, dragon pen holders, dragon trinkets, dragon candlesticks, dragon censers, you get the picture. I love dragons. Dragons are an important symbol in China. Yup I love dragons. I leave gemstones next to my dragons too to keep them well fed and have something to protect. They get bored otherwise.

I plan to repair a treasured book titled Tales of Magic and Enchantment. I love the book so much. I had this book since my childhood. The book is falling apart due to wear and tear and age. I have a large piece of davy board to glue onto the back of the book. I scanned a picture in from the book which I shall glue onto the back cover. It will look great.

I love witchy gowns! I love to wear witchy gowns in black of course! I love the dresses and gowns online but I am not rich by any means. I have a black swishy dress that is very Arwen- ish and witchy! I want to add more fabric near the hem as godets to make the hem way witchier and swishier! It will look great. I like to enhance what I already own. It saves me a lot of money, with the exception of the Viking Nordic apron dress I ordered. There is no way I could recreate that on my own. It would cost a fortune too.

My next creative project will involve spiderweb lace and black goose feathers. I have a black spiderweb lace shawl and I want to order goose feathers from Amazon. Then I want to adhere the feathers to the shawl. I can’t wait to do that project and I just know it will look cool. That should keep me busy!

In a few days, I am off – or should I say, on board for the movie The Last voyage of the Demeter. I can’t wait to see it. I am in the midst of writing a short story, though it may be longer, about a murderous mandrake root ghoul. I am editing my novella Queen of the Arachnas for submission as well. I have gathered a few herbs for drying and pressing too. I love summer. Enjoy every minute of it. It doesn’t last, not in the Maritimes. I am ready for fall!

Blessings, Spiderwitch

Seeds of spring- Imbolc

Merry meet all,

Hello my lovely readers! Even though we are on the cusp of spring, winter lingers. Last night, the howling wind kept me up half the night.

I have a lot on my mind right now. My grandmother is not well. She has to be moved to the city and that means uprooting her. I hope it all works out smoothly. I am very worried about her. My grandmother is in her nineties but is in otherwise good health.

I scattered birdseed at the Mumford Terminal  and in my backyard. I saw the rat and waited and watched for a sign that the birds had found the seed. Indeed they did. I look after all my little ones. It’s cold out and I worry about them. Food is scarce for my avian friends.

I just watched the amazing movie Alien with a friend. I respect the exhausting effort that must have gone into making the movie. Yes art means effort. And that movie truly is amazing. I remember watching the sequel years ago.

I donated my copy of Todd Keisling’s book to the library. Due to my negative experience with him, I saw no sense in keeping it. I only welcome positive energy here.

It is spring in my apartment! If it can’t be spring outdoors, it will be so indoors. I’m growing a pot of basil and rosemary cutting and I have a pot of parsley. I set up my grow light kit where I am growing a number of herbs by seed. I have another pot with radishes and carrots germinating.  I hope they all grow well. I know the herbs will grow well in the grow light kit. I will post what I am starting by seed in the grow light kit soon once I find the list. I can’t remember right now. I keep watering the herbs a little, enough to moisten them but not drown them.

I love herbs. I’m progressing nicely with the herbal courses at the Herbal Academy. I am on Unit 2 in Advanced and I am enjoying the Mastering Herbal Formulations course too. I recently reviewed the Becoming a Herbalist mini course that the Herbal Academy once again offered for free. Tomorrow I no longer have access to it and so I ensured I downloaded the pdf of the course.

I have to work harder at composing the 15-20 monographs for the Advanced course. I hate distractions and I am my own worst enemy. The herbs and flowers are dormant now but soon spring will raise her green head. I cannot wait. It cheers me though I love the dark half of the year. I am a herbalist/ gardener by heart. I water the seedlings in the grow light kit the most because the soil dries out so fast. The green seedlings need moist soil. That is how they thrive.

I am so grateful the Herbal Academy gives me so much time to complete the courses. I can study at a better pace that way. I never stop learning and I love everything I am learning. There is so much for me to learn. It is a truly fascinating subject!

Scams bam no thank you ma’am

Merry meet all,

November, in my opinion, is an extension of October’s magic. A bird just landed on the cedar tree branch outside my window. It is around 3:30 in the afternoon. The sky is still blue. It gets dark early here. It’s my birthday on the 27th. Instead of feeling excited, I am more like thinking that it used to be fun getting older. Now I am and I don’t even want to think about it.

I’m sipping a hawthorn cordial. Lovely drink, really. This post is about scams. I recently fell victim to yet another scam. I really want to warn you all to be so careful. There are so many of them out there. The scams can be so unpleasant to deal with. At first they are so nice and everything seems so innocuous. You pay for a dress or a book online. Then the evil face of the scam reveals its true self. You never know till it hits you.

I even get texts from the evil people running the scam they would offer me money. They try to copy and look just like a real email from Canada Post, Canada Revenue Agency, Royal Bank of Canada or Canadian Tire. The reality is those genuine organizations would never ask such things from you like your personal banking information and such. I once fell for the scam and had to renew my bank card. It was such a pain.

The scam I had trouble is was when I bought a cape from Ubocae. They are the worst scam EVER. Run from them, don’t walk. I give someone money, I damn well expect to receive what I pay for. They had the nerve to send me a ring. A ring. I paid for a beautiful purple cape. Then it all began. They sent weird confusing emails. I had to push them into sending the tracking number. Then I got these emails like about when the item would be sent, and I could finally see two weeks later the item was sent. They told me some crap excuse that the ring was an early gift. Yeah sure and I am Mary Poppins. The item would be sent later if I was patient. They sent me a tracking number which was the tracking number for the ring. Then I pushed for a refund. Keep in mind we’re dealing with a company in Southeast Asia. It is no surprise I am having a hard time. They asked if I wanted a partial refund then asked me if I wanted a 70% refund. I said yes and then they sent me a few days later a second email asking me if I wanted a 70% refund. I think the emails are computer generated. That may be why there is the lack of positive communication. So no cape and no refund. I am never ordering from them again or ordering from anywhere outside North America again. I am researching the company up, down and all around first.

I have new standards for ordering online now. The company has to one I am already familiar with and have had positive results in the past with. The company has to be genuine and honest. The company has to offer reviews of their products, offer a tracking number openly, and have a good transparency to them. I will only buy from within North America now. Total transparency.

I encourage you all to exercise the same caution with your own online purchasing. It save you grief, not having to renew your bank cards, and time and your precious money. I really loved that purple cape. Instead I got a ring which I threw away. I couldn’t even sell it at a  pawn shop. I will never get my money back from that unreal company. I just never want to have anything to do with them again. I doubt I can get the real purple cape I paid for now. I am sure no other store sells it and I don’t know if I can trust an online company now. The company Ubocae also has bad reviews online as well. I am not surprised.

The online stores that I still trust are Amazon (though not lately much), Killstar, Holy Clothing, and Chapters. I will continue to deal with them and that’s pretty much it. I hope you all never have a nasty experience like the one I had. I wish you all the best and please be careful. It is your time and money. Value it.

Blessings, Spiderwitch

Candle Magick )O(

Merry meet all,

Candles are the purest form of Magick. I love staring at a pure bright candle flame. It just stirs my heart and warms my heart. I want to share tips and to burn candles magically and safely this Samhain:

  • Burn a white candle on the windowsill this Samhain to guide lost spirits.
  • Store candles in the freezer for a while. The wax will drip less.
  • Burn a candle for one hour and remember to trim the wick. Never leave a candle unattended.
  • Carve symbols or sigils into the candle wax for an added boost of Magick.
  • Carve symbols or sigils into your pumpkin to keep bad spirits away or to empower the pumpkin wtih protective Magick.
  • Use coloured candles for certain spells: black is a psychic energy and draws in energy, blue is for emotion & intuition, orange is for creativity, white is for Spirit, purple is for psychic energy, brown is for earth-related matters, red is for Mars energy and fire.
  • To release the energy of a candle, blow the candle out when you’re finished a spell. To keep the energy of a spell in the candle, snuff the candle out with a candle snuffer.
  • Clean your candlesticks to keep them ready to use for new spell casting.
  • Gaze into a candle flame to scry your future or a message from Spirit.
  • Burn essential oils on candles or buy the scented candles. Try not to use synthetic oils. Use natural essential oils. They don’t always cost a fortune.
  • Keep your familiars away from candles. Burn candles where your furr-milairs can’t get to them. Always practice safety when burning candles.
  • Don’t burn your candles at your altar while wearing long billowing sleeves or near the curtains. Safety first.
  • Grind herbs to a powder if you want to burn herbs on your candles first. The candles will sputter less.
  • Bury the wax out in the garden when the candle is finished burning.
  • If you do burn a lot of candles indoors or outdoors this Samhain, keep sand, a fire extinguisher or a pitcher of water nearby to avoid a fire. Getting evicted is not cool!
  • Put your intention into the candle. That will add extra power to your spell. For example, I wanted a pet cat. I burned a cat-shaped candle. Sympathetic magic! Like attracts like.
  • Always put a positive intention into your spell workings, never negative. You want bad, you get bad. You want good Magick, you get good Magick! So be positive always! Energy always returns to the sender!
  • Spirits are around us everywhere this Samhain! Burn a candle you made yourself. Add graveyard dirt and clary sage essential oils to the candle at your altar to attract the spirits.
  • Gather a lot of oak leaves and dry them. Once they are thoroughly dry, grind the leaves to a powder. Use the powder like an ash for your cauldron. Nestle a cauldron or a charcoal disc in the oak ash. Store the unused oak leaf ash in the fridge or the freezer to keep it from spoiling. Oak leaves have a strong energy, and represent longevity, strength, stability, endurance, fertility, power, justice and honesty.

I hope the above tips help when you cast candle Magick this Samhain!

Blessed be, Spiderwitch

Spooky Sight Seers – Spirits

Merry meet all,

Welcome September! The entire month of September is Halloween Eve. Today it’s rainy and overcast. I definitely feel it in the air. I am happy to post here plenty of good news!.

I have a new desk, a new monitor- well a few months old, and a new printer and keyboard. I love the new setup. I hope this helps me attract much needed ‘prosperity’. I feel a new energy in my bedroom. Yes, my office is in my bedroom. I shouldn’t do that but I am limited on space here. I have learned how to make it work for me. The new setup here is sure to encourage more positive energy. I’m taking the Short Story Fundamentals workshop at Writers Digest University for the month of September. I am sure I will enjoy it.

I ordered an expensive large cauldron from the New Age mystic. I can’t wait for it to arrive.

The Wheel of the Year turns again to Mabon, or the autumn equinox. I love Mabon. It’s as magickal to me as Samhain. I can’t believe it is almost that time of year. To ring in the seasonal change and here things get spooky, I am excited to share this post with you about ghosts in the Maritimes.

Haunted Dolls )O(

Merry meet all,

Today I bought a porcelain doll, shown in the photo above. I went to Value Village with the intention of finding a doll with a weird vibe on it. I found it. Oh she cost ten bucks! I want to write a haunted doll story. I needed a muse. My witch friend, Pamela, who owns a witch shop and has the best most awesome shop and the brains to run it suggested I find a doll at the local thrift store. I flew to the shop on my broom (OK, OK I took the bus.) Once there, I strolled the aisles for the perfect doll.

I found the doll section. It didn’t take me too long to find the porcelain doll I was looking for. I brought her home. I combed her hair because it has many tugs. I cleaned her face with a warm washcloth. I fussed with her dress. I am unsure if I should sage her because that may rid her of the vibe she has. I will wash her outfit and put it back on her so she is clean.

Her name is Isabelle. Isabelle has a burgundy pouch that is sewn shut. I seam ripped the pouch open. I found two seeds that resembled garlic cloves in the pouch. My friend on Facebook is a medium. He sensed some bad vibes from her. She doesn’t want to be called Cordelia. It’s Isabelle. My friend Scott Lee Bower tells me she once belonged to a family who had a young daughter. The father was a vicar/ priest. Their daughter may have been murdered and the spirit of the girl moved into the doll. He (Scott) felt there was a child murder. I sure hope the doll’s past is not that tragic but who knows?

I feel lightheaded  every time I hold her. I do sense that Isabelle is happier here. I know she was unhappy before at the store and in her other home. I hope she is happier here. Her eyes have something sad in them. I wonder if that will change as she lives here a long time.

The doll at the witch shop who resembles Anne of Green Gables is happier now. A woman brought her in because she didn’t know what to do with her. The doll has been cuddled, and fussed over and lived at the witch shop for a while now. She is a happy doll now. That doll was witness to a murder. The poor doll- and the victim! I will also coddle Isabelle too. No one will be mean to her anymore.

I appreciate it that Scott could clarify al that to me and sense that about Isabelle. Poor Isabelle. Spirits will move into a doll because the doll resembles a person. I fear mannequins. I dread them like I would dread a shark. They seem human but aren’t quite human. People can actually develop a phobia called Pediophobia, a fear of dolls. Dolls resemble people but aren’t quite right so that is why people, some people, have the doll fear. I can understand it but I have no fear of dolls. Well to be honest, the one thing that freaks me about dolls is their eyes. Those glassy eyes stare out at you, expressionless. Isabelle has an emotion in her eyes though: sweet and sad. I think the sad part is due to her unhappy past. If the doll at the witch shop can change, then I shall see if this doll can change too. Only time and love will tell.

I smudged Isabelle with a sage stick. I also hand washed her entire outfit and let it air dry. This changed her energy significantly. I’m not sure if she will still move on her own. I am sure I will see it soon and know when it happens. It’s possible that some love and tender care could have altered that. Hard to say.

On a happier note, the Summer Solstice is almost here! I can’t wait. A friend of mine heard of an interesting theory. The few days we experienced sweltering hot weather here caused or was related somehow to the solar eclipse. June has a lot going on celestially. Wow that is a cool theory  I am willing to believe. How do you all plan to celebrate the Solstice? I plan to burn green candles, associated with the earth, drink herbal tea and honour the faeries in my garden. I will have fun and I hope you all do too!

Blessings, Spiderwitch

The Enfield Poltergeist

Merry meet all,

The moon wanes. The harvest Sabbat continues. The moon sign is currently in Aries. Now is the time to focus on the old projects  you may have procrastinated on. October 31st/ Samhain is the Witches New Year. I want to complete a lot of tasks/ chores or projects before then. That includes completing the cosplay costume, my writing projects and housework. I know some of it sounds redundant but I love a good clean home.

For some cool tips on how to eliminate clutter from your home- and I fight a constant battle with that too, watch this video by a gothic vampire with a sense of humor on youtube: https://youtu.be/RRwGPwNI6zA

Enjoy! He is eccentric but he is funny. I enjoy his videos. It’s inspired me to paint my own furniture. I can’t wait.  I promise to post pics on it when I am all done.

The next upcoming Sabbat is Mabon. I love Mabon. It’s just as magical as Samhain. know that social distancing and wearing masks is dampening our spirits a little. We can all still enjoy Mabon -and Samhain! We just have to be more cognizant. Mabon delights our senses with beautiful autumn leaves in colorful splendor. Golds, reds and brown are painted across the trees that take our breath away. Pumpkins sit on porches. Yup it’s our favorite time of year.

Our spooky tale for this post focuses on the Enfield Poltergeist. Btw, I love the movie Poltergeist.

THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST – THE TRUE STORY OF THE ENFIELD HAUNTING AND THE CONJURING 2

“The Enfield poltergeist – the name given to the story of the paranormal phenomena that occurred at an entirely normal council house in Enfield, North London, is one of Britain’s most beloved and well-known ghost stories. It’s also been the center of a major Hollywood feature film, The Conjuring 2, as well as a Sky series titled The Enfield Haunting – both with star-studded casts.

The story of the Enfield poltergeist house has divided many, with a number of respected members of paranormal societies believing the account of the Hodgson family to be entirely true, although many sceptics think that there are many elements of the story that earmark it as being a hoax. Although we may not ever know for sure what happened, the poltergeist in Enfield is still one of the most fascinating ghost stories in modern British history.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

aftermath-janet-attack

The Enfield poltergeist story began in 1977 and centered on the Hodgson family, mainly on the youngest daughter, Janet. Mother Peggy, daughters Margaret, 13 and Janet, 11 and sons Johnny, 10, and Billy, 7, were living in a semi-detached council house in Enfield. It was an entirely normal, non-descript house. We normally hear of tales of ghostly encounters in grander settings: hotels, castles and ancient buildings, so the haunted house in Enfield resonated with families across Britain because it was real; it was close to home, it felt like it could happen to us.

The first event in the haunting is disputed, but it’s thought to be either the beds moving around Janet and Margaret’s room, or, the chest of drawers moving forwards and then moving backwards. In both cases, Peggy told the children to stop messing around, and didn’t believe that anything was happening until she moved the chest of drawers back into place, only to see it move once again. With that, she became frightened and ran to the neighbor’s house: the neighbor’s then accompanied them back to the house, only to hear further unexplained noises, such as knocks and banging noises from various places in the house, with no particular source. The police were called and they too heard the noises but could not trace their source.

THE POLTERGEIST IN ENFIELD: CAPTURED ON FILM

janet-being-thrownOne of the many reasons that the haunted house in Enfield became such a worldwide sensation was because many of the paranormal events that took place inside the home were captured on film. Once the police were called, many more events began to take place: items were regularly thrown around, Janet, the youngest daughter spoke in strange voices and snarls and she was thrown around her bedroom.

One image shows her, midair, in a seemingly impossible leap. Maurice Grosse and Guy Playfair, two of the investigators in the case, from the Society for Physical Research, maintain that they believe the haunting was genuine and caught many of the now-infamous images on film.

Much of the equipment used in their investigation was often found to be malfunctioning upon entering the Hodgson household, despite working perfectly well beforehand, although Janet was found to have hidden a tape-recorder and was video-taped bending spoons on another occasion.

They believe that much of the activity surrounding the Enfield ghost was genuine, although they do suspect that some of the occurrences were exaggerated by Janet for increased attention by reporters. As an example, Playfair said that Bill, one of the voices Janet became most well-known for, had some similar vocal tics and habits to Janet, such as changing the topic of conversation often. Whilst this doesn’t necessarily mean that Bill wasn’t “real”, it does raise questions: why would Bill speak in such a similar manner to Janet?

THE TRUTH ABOUT JANET

Although there are many theories about the truth of the Enfield poltergeist house and there are many who believe the Enfield poltergeist is hoax and nothing more than a figment of a creative yet troubled young girl.

Most investigators believe that the story begins and ends with Janet. The newspapers wrote about the Enfield ghost and the Enfield poltergeist; many also wrote scathing stories about Janet: Janet, the young girl at the very heart of the story. Whether or not she was lying about some or all of the activity, we’ll never know, but there is little doubt in most people’s minds that at least some of the phenomena – at least in the beginning – was real.

Perhaps Janet started to appreciate the increased attention that she, a middle child in a working-class family was finally starting to get, for perhaps the very first time, and so she started to exaggerate some of the activities going on around her in order to gain more notoriety, exposure and attention. Or, perhaps Janet’s story simply echoes other poltergeist stories: typically, poltergeist encounters occur around young women, before they enter puberty. Janet was at exactly the right age for such an encounter and for all we know some of her behaviors, such as bending spoons and hiding a tape-recorder, may have been encouraged by said poltergeist.

WHERE DO THE WARRENS FIT IN?

the-warrensThe Warren investigators were well-known paranormal investigators in the 1960s and 1970s and in fact, they may well be better-known today following the three blockbuster films based on their story: The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2 (Enfield Poltergeist Film) and Annabelle.

The Conjuring 2 true story differs from the film quite a bit. The Conjuring 2 showed the Warrens as being incredibly involved in the case of the Enfield poltergeist house, but this may be more than a little bit misleading. In fact, Guy Playfair, one of the investigators in the case, said that the Warrens turned up to the Enfield house uninvited and actually stayed for just one day.

Ed Warren also reportedly told Playfair that a lot of money could be made from the case, which could indicate why the Warrens themselves turned up to do their own bit of investigation.

WHAT ABOUT BILL?

Perhaps the most interesting part of the whole case centers on Bill, the voice that Janet was heard to use and speak with on a number of occasions, in a gruff, low tone. Some research suggests that the idea of using a different voice or a number of different voices might have been “planted” in Janet’s head by Grosse.

Janet told reporters that Grosse had told her that the voices were needed so they could talk and immediately following, the voices came. Something unexplained about Bill however, is how Janet could have known that Bill died of a hemorrhaged in the armchair in the living room of the house, which was later confirmed by his son – that a man named Bill had died in the house, of a hemorrhage, sitting in his chair in the living room.

The Bill story is what gives the the Enfield Poltergeist case that feeling; that tips skeptics over from not being sure into being believers.

SO WHAT HAPPENED?

After a year and a half of activity, the phenomena at the Enfield house abruptly came to an end. No-one knew why, but these sorts of hauntings are common with poltergeists: they stop, they start, and the family gets back to normal.

During that year and a half, many phenomena occurred: furniture moving, electrical equipment malfunctioning, Janet spoke in different voices and snarls, knocks and banging sounds could be heard from around the house – and from what we can tell, the family could not find a source for any of these activities, at least in the beginning.

Whether or not the Hodgson family was telling the whole truth remains to be seen, but we still can’t come up with a reasonable explanation for the Bill story. Can you?

You’ve read up on the conjuring 2 film, please see our article on the Conjuring True Story here.”

FEATURED GHOST HUNTS!

Stay spooky!!

Blessings, Spiderwitch

Merry meet all,

In my novel, The Eldritch Ghost, the eldritch ghost Jonathan Fraser attempts to communicate with Rosemary Bell, the heroic main character of the novel. Jonathan is heroic too but Rosemary is the one who saves him. Throughout the novel, he attempts many ways to communicate with her. In my efforts of course, to be as original as I earlier posted, I came up with an unique way for him communicate with her.

He feeds off her energy. He is not parasitic. He talks to her and moves objects in the house such as causing curtains to fall. But one main way of his reaching out to her is it happens the most strongest when she touches seaweed. If she touches seaweed with him bearing the seaweed curse, he can communicate with her the strongest and deliver a warning or a message clearly.

He drowned in the ocean when Duncan murdered him. His body was buried in the house to cover up the murder. His pain of being torn from his love and his family was so agonizing  he became melancholy. The house became a tomb of gloom and misery. Here he waits, for a spark of life to return and save him. That spark of light to his shock is Rosemary, grieving for the death of her husband.

We have all experienced pain, loss and sadness. We have experienced joy and ecstasy.   You think the ghost is the evil one in the novel but not so. The one suspect is revealed in the end. Jonathan is a powerful ghost. He is both good and some bad. He helps Rosemary when Duncan spies on her but he craves vengeance and traps spirits of those who have died in his misty realm.

He also invades her dreams to communicate with her how he was murdered since he needs her help. She is the tool for him to be saved. The dreams are eerie and unsettling but he desperately needs her help. I am familiar with having odd dreams and experiencing sleep paralysis and I tried to include a lot of my feelings in the book. Rosemary eventually believes Jonathan tells the truth and not the townspeople who aren’t too eager to reveal all the gristly details of the town’s dark past.

I have some experience with the paranormal. I know how that sounds. I live in a city where we take spooks and hauntings for granted. The Five Fishermen restaurant is one such haunted restuarant. I dined there in the past and on the second floor on my tour, the ghosts were like, “You can sense us?” Remember that Ghost movie starring Patrick Swayze? It was like that. They actually have a high turnover rate of employment because the employees see cutlery flying off the shelves.

I will let you determine for yourselves whether ghosts exist. But remember, they were once us.

Happy UnValentine’s Day ( I despise the holiday)
