One way to thrive as a sensitive soul is to find an area of your home that you can feel comfortable in. THe kitchen is one area that is perfect for that. it is a very personal thing how one designs it and arranges it and cooks in it. Every time you cook a meal, you are taking energy into yourself when you eat the food. So it makes sense to choose fresh food as often as you can.

The kitchen can be full of pots of fresh herbs or modern and with a cool clean design. I hang a kitchen witch on the fridge, posted a kitchen witches creed on the fridge, sweep the floor and since my kitchen area is so small, keep it very very clean. I grow my own herbs and try to cook from scratch as often as I can in a time when most people throw food into a microwave. From scratch allows you to put more energy into the cooking process-an escape from the everyday mundane. Kneading dough or cooking soup in a cool cauldron like pot adds magic.

The scent of food wafting in the kitchen is tempting. It’s why i bake my own bread. Throw out odd dishes and invest in some dishes that reflect your personal tastes. Sometimes, I light a candle and burn essential oils while I cook. I say a small prayer to Hestia or Demeter, the goddesses of the hearth and home. Then, the food has that much better taste. Think of all the energy you can get from all that. Find what works for you and make it a daily practice.
In time, you will find your cooking and your cooking area develop more energy and magic, making cooking less of a chore and more something to look forward to.

This is in continuation with the above topic. I have spent the last few days gardening and working my heart out. I am weary and sunburnt, but working with the earth, filling in soil-and the addictive joy of planting flowers, has refreshed my spirit!

I suggest we all take some time to plant a little garden. I am fortunate that where I live, I can have a small garden of my own. It is exciting to see your efforts come to fruition. Hostas, bleeding hearts and lilies are nice perennials that do double duty- grow into beautiful plants and attract bees and butterflies.

Stirring up soil, and greeting the odd earthworm for a few hours can take your mind off of your problems that seemed so huge before you got started. This is a wonderful way for you to relax. It reinvigorates you and you may find yourself planting roses or geraniums and vegetables. Suddenly, it becomes fun to plant and then you may not be able to stop. That certainly was my case. I can’t stop now that I have started.

so go ahead buy some herb pots-I found bay laurel-make sure it’s organic and grow your own herbs. You will have more than enough to tide you till next spring-when you get out the gardening gloves again!! Have fun and here’s a tip-keep cats out of your garden by covering the soil with dead leaves!!

Blessed Be
